Purpose of the Job

Job Context:

  • To make sure goods are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards. Plan and draw up a production schedule.

Challenges: 

  • Improvement of Line productivity and Production productivity. (Maximum utilisation of Manpower).
  • Improvement of raw material & Packaging Yield. (Concentrate, preform, Crown/closer, label).
  • Ensure availability of raw materials, packaging materials before planning.
  • Ensure product availability.

Details of the Job

Job Role/ Title: Production Manager

Reporting Manager: Plant Manager

Level: M03, M04

Function: Production

Manager’s Manager: RCTO

Key Accountabilities(1)

To set the production target

Overall responsibility for all production activities. Watch over the production process and coming up with a production schedule. Identify improvement projects, getting approval & executing the same

To prepare corrective action & preventive action plan for the production non-conformities

Making sure the production is cost effective. Supervise the production processes and regulate schedules as per requirement. Evaluating the performance of people working under them. Keeping the team motivated. Implementing the organizations goals and policies along with the managers. Setting healthy and safe guidelines and making sure they are followed stringently. They make sure that the services and goods are made efficiently and they also ensure that the quantity, quality and price are right.

Key Accountabilities(2)

Ensures costs & sets up quality standards

See the customers are satisfied and goods are produced on time. Direct responsibility for control of annual plant budgets. Direct responsibility for safety of personnel, facilities & equipment Overall responsibility for adherence to local laws, especially labor laws, fire & explosives, safety, electrical installation, etc. Direct responsibility to implement the safety systems in the plant area. Direct responsibility for achieving the targeted yields, losses & usage factors for ingredients & utilities.

Education & Experience

Education Qualification (Highest) with Target Institute(s):B.Tech- Mechanical & Electrical or equivalent

Desired Certifications:Technical

Experience Range: 10-15 years of experience in Beverages Industry

Desirable experience: Production & Process Knowledge of beverages Industry benchmarking methodology and other experiences are an advantage.
